  1. Speaking of paint, here's my latest frugal project. We finished off our basement last summer, but haven't gotten around to painting it yet. The only two rooms that have been painted are my sewing studio and the bathroom. For both rooms, I went to the mis-tinted paint section at Lowe's selected a color of paint that someone else had chosen and then changed their mind about. Those paints are at a deep discount. The blue I got last weekend was $5, plus I received a $5 mail in rebate form, so this paint job could conceivably be free!
